Welcome to Bullyboy.caFirst and foremost, a big hello to all you kids and grown-ups out there and thanks for visiting our website. We are two youths who believe that every child has the right to a happy childhood free from physical, verbal and emotional abuse. We have decided to do our part in trying to make this world a safer place for young people by giving you a fun educational outlet to explore and discuss how to stop bullying in your schools. With incidents of bullying occurring in every North American school or playground on any given day, the sad reality is that many children are being victimized and abused by their peers. Bullying is a nasty, nasty business, and yet we continue to hear many adults say things such as: Most kids go through it! - It's just a phase! - It's a normal part of growing up! - or Boys will be boys! What many adults fail to realize is that too many children go through their everyday lives in a state of misery, or in constant fear of what form of harassment or abuse will await them when they get to school in the morning. With the public's attention finally focused on an issue of great concern to children all over the world, it's time to ask ourselves: Are we doing enough to ensure that no child has to dread what will happen to him or her today at school? And: Is it fair that a child could be emotionally tortured by his or her peers to the point that the child hates the reflection staring back in the mirror? Every day in schools across North America, young people are threatened, taunted, ostracized, and tormented by bullies. Thanks to cyber-bullying, the incidents of bullying are getting worse as children are now being targeted in the comfort of their own homes with the help of malicious emails and the Internet. Those of us who fail to recognize and prevent these bullying practices are as much a problem as the bullies themselves. So why not try to make a difference? We invite you to join us in our efforts to, as our comics suggest, "Do the right thing!" We ask that you as educators, students, adults, and citizens of this world, stand up together and make a difference in the lives of children everywhere. Join us in our efforts to help children to learn about and stop bullying in their schools.
